About the Artist

I make sculpture, mostly in wood. I'm inspired by the good and bad of the law and social justice issues swirling

around us and our environment. I make the pieces to give form to these issues and to present them visually.

This process opens to me a window to understanding and I hope provokes thought in the viewer.

 I've been a lawyer and judge for well over 40 years and have been working wood even longer. At first I was self

taught, later earning an MFA at RIT. I had treated these two paths as separate but years ago they converged with 

one enriching the other.
